Episode 6: Where I Stand – Building from Brokenness

“My name is Musa. This is my path.”

I stand here today not as someone who has it all figured out. Not as someone who is beyond pain, beyond fear, beyond mistakes. But as someone who has learned how to rebuild from brokenness.

The years of grief were heavy. The loss of my family – the pillars of my life shook me to my core. I thought I’d never recover. I thought I’d never stand again.

But with every broken piece, Allah made me whole again. With every tear, He planted strength I never knew I had.

The pain of losing loved ones turned into a purpose I couldn’t ignore. I had to find a way to help the world understand that their struggles, too, could be transformed into purpose.

I traced my roots. Not just through my family – but through the story of the children of Israel, whose journey was one of struggle and survival. It was in their story that I found my own.

When I realised that the same faith that carried them through their trials was the faith that would carry me, I knew I had to do more. I had to be a light for others still walking in darkness.

It was then that Sabeel-l-Huda Islamic Society was born. A space for the lost, the broken, the forgotten, to find solace in Allah’s mercy and the light of His guidance. A sanctuary where the story of Musa isn’t just a story – it’s a roadmap for every believer seeking a way out of their struggle.

From names to nations, from trials to triumphs, this path is still unfolding. But I stand here, stronger, because I stopped running from myself.

My journey hasn’t ended.

It’s still unfolding, as all journeys do. But I know this: the path to the straight path is not about perfection. It’s about trusting Allah and letting His plan unfold in the most unexpected ways.

Every tear, every loss, every setback – it was all part of a larger story. A story that brings me here today, stronger, clearer, and more connected to my purpose than ever before.

I stand not as someone who has it all together, but as someone who has learned that strength is not the absence of pain but the courage to walk through it.

And this is where I stand now.
Not at the end. But at the beginning of a new chapter.

My name is Musa Tawhid. This is my path.

Author’s Note: This story is based on my life. My name is Tawhid Olasunmade. Through the story of Musa, I found myself. Through Tawhid, I found my path.
