Sacred Spaces, Forgotten Places: Sabeel-l-Huda’s Mosque Restoration Mission (MRM)

Across Nigeria, countless villages and remote communities either lack a mosque entirely or worship in structures on the brink of collapse. These sacred spaces—meant to be havens of prayer and unity—are often neglected, forgotten by time and resources.

Sabeel-l-Huda Islamic Society is bridging that gap through the Mosque Restoration Mission (MRM)—a data-driven program that surveys and selects mosques in dire condition across every Local Government Area (LGA) in Nigeria. Where there is no mosque, we begin building. Where one is broken, we restore it with dignity and purpose.

From cracked walls to missing roofs, our restoration efforts go beyond repairs. We revive the heartbeat of communities—where young boys memorize Qur’an, elders lead Fajr in peace, and unity blossoms after Jummah.

This is not just construction. It’s a revival of faith, a shelter of hope, and a symbol of divine presence in underserved areas.
