“My name is Musa Tawhid. This is my path.”
Some journeys begin with pain. Others begin with curiosity.
But the journey of knowledge begins with something deeper.
Beauty.
Not the beauty of appearance, but the beauty of clarity. The kind that settles confusion in the heart and replaces noise with direction.
That is why I seek knowledge.
Not for argument.
Not for status.
Not to win debates online.
I seek knowledge because it is beautiful. Our noble Messenger ﷺ taught us that seeking knowledge is not optional. It is a responsibility. A trust placed on every believer who wants to walk the Straight Path.
And in our time, that responsibility has become even more serious. Because knowledge today sits everywhere.
On our phones.
On our timelines.
In endless videos and posts that travel faster than truth itself. The internet has opened a door that no generation before us experienced. But every door must be entered with guidance.
I spend time scrolling sometimes, watching how Muslims—especially the younger generation—search for answers. Some find sincere teachers. Others find loud voices with confidence but no evidence.
A verse is quoted without context.
A hadith is shared without authenticity.
Opinions travel as if they were revelation. And slowly, confusion spreads. But the Ummah was never meant to live like that.
Allah gave us two anchors that never move: the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah (Hadith).
These are not decorations of our faith. They are its foundation. When the companions learned from the Prophet ﷺ, they did not collect random statements. They asked questions. They memorized carefully. They practiced what they learned before rushing to teach others. Knowledge was treated as a trust. That spirit is something our generation must revive.
Our leaders—scholars, teachers, imams, and community guides—carry a heavy responsibility today. Not only to teach knowledge, but to help the Ummah understand how to navigate knowledge in the digital age.
How to verify before sharing.
How to ask before assuming.
How to return to evidence instead of emotion.
Because a Muslim Ummah that stops verifying knowledge slowly loses its direction. And the Prophet ﷺ warned us about speaking without knowledge.
But despite the challenges, I see something hopeful.
Across Nigeria and beyond, a new curiosity is growing among young Muslims. Many are no longer satisfied with inherited practices alone. They want to understand the evidence. They want to open the Qur’an themselves.
They want to know why they pray the way they pray. That curiosity is not rebellion.
It is revival.
And if it is guided correctly—with patience, sincerity, and authentic knowledge—it could become one of the most beautiful transformations our Ummah has seen in generations. Because knowledge does something powerful.
It humbles the heart.
It softens the tongue.
It purifies intention.
The more a person learns, the more they realize how much they still do not know. That humility is the beginning of wisdom.
So I continue my own journey quietly—reading, listening, observing, asking questions, and returning again and again to the Qur’an and the authentic teachings of the Prophet ﷺ.
Not because I have arrived.
But because the path of knowledge never ends.
And perhaps that is its greatest beauty.
My name is Musa Tawhid.
This is what I discovered when knowledge became more beautiful than certainty.
Let me leave you with a question.
In an age where information travels faster than wisdom…
How do we, as an Ummah, protect the truth while guiding the next generation toward it?
